The Donegal Grand Prix concludes this weekend with the County
5k championships taking place in Letterkenny on Sunday at 11.30
am. A large turnout is expected as individuals and clubs compete
for prizes in both the Grand Prix and the County Championships.
In recent years, Inishowen athletes have got amongst the team
and individual prizes with the Club’s senior men taking
bronze medals in 2005. A week later, on Sunday 30 September the
second annual Mooathon half marathon takes place in Kilmacrenan
at 10.00am. The cross-country season gets underway on Saturday
6 October with the Donegal even ages (U 10-U18) and novice races
in Killybegs at 12.00 noon. The County uneven ages (U 11-U19)
and masters races are set for Sunday 14th October. Jordanstowns
Co. Antrim will be the venue for the Ulster and Northern Ireland
even ages cross-country championships on Saturday 27th October.
The action returns again to Donegal with the County senior cross-country
championships taking place on Sunday 4 November at the Finn Valley
Centre at 11.00 am. The Provincial cross-country championships
conclude on Sunday 11 November with the uneven ages and novice
races in the Finn Valley centre.
