Ultra
distance runner Helena Crossan travels to Texas this Wednesday
to represent Ireland at the World 50 mile trail running championships.
Crossan is the only female participant from Ireland competing
at this prestigious event. Speaking earlier in the week, Crossan
said that she was ‘…very relaxed…’ in
the build-up to one of the biggest races of her long and distinguished
career. While the Carndonagh athlete doses not have the same volume
of work completed as she had for the World 100k (62.2 miles) in
September, she is very confident of a strong performance. Crossan
gained her selection for this event as a result of her tenth place
finish at the World 100k championships in Holland in September.
