The City of Derry Spartans organised 2012 Furey Insurances 5K Series, kicks off on Wednesday evening 18th April on the flat, fast Bay Rd circuit, with the significant added impetus of hosting the Athletics NI 5K road championship. The six race series travels to different venues in both Derry and Inishowen and attracts a healthy mix of club runners and joggers....around 1600 in total participated in last year's series. It boasts a generous £400+ prize fund at each race; an overall £800 prize fund for the leading Male/Female Open, Master and U20 and there is also a quality printed series souvenir for all who complete a minimum of four of the races.
