Karen
Crossan has been selected to run for Ulster at the Cardiff cross-country
challenge international this Sunday. The Carndonagh native will
be toeing the line in the under 23 race, which will be run in
conjunction with the senior women’s and open international
race. The DCU student received the call up as a result of her
33rd place finish at the IAAF international cross-country in Antrim
on Saturday week last.
Inishowen
A.C. will host the third round of the Donegal sportshall athletics
competition in Carndonagh Community School this Saturday 17th
January at 12.00. This competition is for juvenile athletes born
in 1997, ’98, ’99 and ’00. Also on Saturday,
the Ulster/Northern Ireland junior and masters cross-country championships
will take place in Stormont, on the outskirts of Belfast. Gransha
is the venue for the Ulster/Northern Ireland senior cross-country
championships on Saturday 31st January. On Sunday 1st February,
trials for under 13 and under 15 boys and girls for the County
sportshall athletics team will be held in Carndonagh Community
School at 12 noon. Athletes must be 11 years of age on the day
of the competition and under the age group dates on the 1st September
2008.

LAC NEW YEARS 3K
Training
for all juveniles in the Buncrana area continues this Wednesday
at the Leisure Centre from 7.00 – 8.00 pm. The Fit for Life
and senior training continues every Tuesday from the Buncrana
Leisure Centre at 6.30 pm. Athletics training for 8-12 year old
juveniles continues this Thursday in Carndonagh Community School
from 5.00 – 6.00 pm. Training for post-primary school athletes
takes place every Thursday also in Carndonagh Community School
from 3.20-4.45.
